Sweetcase

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 22 September 2026. These Terms are written in English, which is also the language of the contract between you and us.

1. Who we are

Sweetcase ("Sweetcase", "we", "us") is operated by Alessio Meroni, a sole trader (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands, trading as Sweetcase.

Verbeeklaan 3, 5644 DG Eindhoven, Netherlands
Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 89485106
VAT (BTW) number: NL004732697B52
Email: hello@sweetcase.app

These Terms apply every time you use sweetcase.app. By using the app you accept them; if you don't agree with them, please don't use the app.

2. The service

Sweetcase generates packing lists for a trip using an AI model, based on the details you enter (destination, length of the trip, and anything else you choose to add). You can edit the list, tick items off, and send it to yourself by email or share it via WhatsApp.

There is no account with a password: you use the app straight away, and the features that need to recognise you (saved lists, saved travelers) work by verifying your email address with a one-time code or a sign-in link.

Generating lists is free, within a daily limit that exists to keep AI costs under control. Saving lists and travelers, and exporting to WhatsApp, are part of Sweetcase Lounge, which is free for everyone during the beta described below.

3. Who can use Sweetcase

You must be at least 16 years old to use Sweetcase. The app is aimed at consumers; if you use it in the course of a business, the consumer protections referred to in these Terms do not apply to you.

4. Access to your data by email

Whoever can read your inbox can reach the lists and travelers saved under your email address, because that is exactly what the one-time code and the sign-in link prove. Keep your mailbox secure, and don't forward those emails. A sign-in link and a code both expire after 10 minutes and can only be used once.

If you choose to stay signed in, we place a cookie on that browser for 30 days. You can end it at any time from "Not you? Sign out" in the app.

5. Sweetcase Lounge — free beta

Sweetcase Lounge unlocks saved lists, saved travelers with their favourite items, and WhatsApp export, and it raises the daily limit on generating lists. While Sweetcase is in beta, Lounge is free for everyone: you join with your name and email address, confirmed with a one-time code. There is no card, no subscription, and nothing to cancel.

No payments. We don't take any payment during the beta, and joining it never turns into a paid subscription by itself.

If paid plans are introduced. We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will tell beta members by email beforehand and publish the prices and conditions in these Terms. You will only ever be charged if you actively choose to subscribe, and the lists and travelers you saved during the beta stay yours either way.

6. Subscriptions taken out before the beta

If you took out a paid Sweetcase Lounge subscription before the beta started, it stays under the terms you accepted when you subscribed until it ends. You can cancel it at any time from "Manage subscription" in the app, which opens the Stripe billing portal, or by writing to hello@sweetcase.app. Payments were processed by Stripe; we never received or stored card details.

7. Complimentary access

We may occasionally grant complimentary Lounge access to an individual account, for example for support or testing. Where that access comes with limits or an end date, they are shown in the app. Complimentary access never turns into a paid subscription by itself: there is nothing to pay and nothing to cancel.

8. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service. In particular, don't:

  • try to get around the daily generation limits or the other limits of the service;
  • request one-time codes for email addresses that are not yours, or use the email-sending feature to send unsolicited messages to other people;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the app or the AI generation behind it;
  • use the app to generate content that is unlawful.

We may suspend or terminate access, including Lounge access, where these rules are broken.

9. AI-generated content

Packing lists are generated automatically by a third-party AI model (Anthropic's Claude). They are suggestions, not advice: we don't guarantee that a list is complete, accurate, or suitable for your trip. Always check it against your own judgment and against the rules that apply to your destination — visas, documents, medication, customs restrictions, airline baggage rules, and travel advisories are your responsibility, not the list's.

10. Your content

The lists you create and the traveler profiles you save stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store that content, show it back to you, and send it where you ask us to send it. We don't use it to advertise to you, and we don't sell it. Trip details are sent to our AI provider to generate the list; your email address is not.

You can delete your lists and travelers yourself in the app at any time, or ask us to delete everything we hold about you (see our Privacy Policy).

11. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Sweetcase available, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free: maintenance, and problems at the providers we depend on, can take it offline for a while. We may add, change, or remove features over time, which is part of what a beta is for. If we discontinue the service, we tell Lounge members by email beforehand so they can keep a copy of their lists.

12. Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app — including items missed from a list, delays, travel disruption, or reliance on AI-generated suggestions. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused it, which during the free beta is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects Lounge members, such as the introduction of paid plans, we tell them by email beforehand. Otherwise, continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer resident in another EU/EEA country, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country's law, and you may also bring proceedings before the courts there.

Please write to us first at hello@sweetcase.app — most things are quicker to fix that way. Any dispute we can't settle between us may be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands.
